ric pics Vol 1: LOOSEY GOOSEY

$25.00

Existing somewhere between the realms of a “zine” and a “soft cover book” (whatever that means???), ric pics Vol 1: LOOSEY GOOSEY is richard richard richardsessesssessssssessssss’ first offering of this kind. This book-a-zine features 100 pages stuffed with over 100 black and white photographs made over the course of one year. As someone who once prided themselves on their self-prescribed labels as a “street” and “documentary” photographer, the aesthetic of the work in these pages fits fairly well into those genres though as the title suggests, it can also be a little more freeform jazz or “Loosey Goosey” if you will. “Loosey Goosey” itself being a Japanese term meaning “more heart and less technical,” though richards seems to operate at the intersection of both soul and skillset. richards has described the contents of this zinebook as “an improvisation with the universe during one of the most emotionally challenging periods of my life” later adding that the book is “a visual poem about hope, and finding the will to carry on” though he ultimately admitted that that’s just like uh, his opinion, man. This book is a must own for photographers, artists, art lovers, and people who like having cool shit in their house. Also, word on the street is having richard richard richards work in your house can get you laid.
